Felicity Hughes is a British writer and editor. Over the course of her career she has worked for a number of print and online publications including: The Wire, The Guardian, Bizarre, Decanter, Harper’s Bazaar, The Japan Times and Damn Magazine.

She cut her teeth as a journalist in Japan, where she reported on a wide range of topics from giant insect battles to augmented reality apps. During that time she wrote a wine column and trend blog for The Japan Times. She is also an assistant editor for Hiragana Times, a job she continues to do remotely.

She currently lives in Madrid where, besides being the author of the blog The Making of Madrid, she also runs guided tours of the city. She’s enthusiastic about the history and culture of Spain and this passion is reflected in her writing.

In her free time she has made forays into the world of fiction and has had stories published in Litro and Pankhurst magazines. She’s currently querying for her first novel, The Fakes, a romance/crime drama set in Tokyo during the late ’80s.
